Symphony in the Barn 2018 Festival

What a fantastic weekend! I am just home after 3 weeks at Glencolton Farms in Durham, Ontario producing, co-artistic directing and performing for the Symphony in the Barn 2018 Edition. I met so many friends new and old, both fellow musicians and local attendees. It was a total thrill and an honor.

It was very busy, so I am glad to have at least a few photos to share with you with my favorite farm animal friends and the Janus Quartet who came all the way from Mexico for our newly founded SIB mentorship program. A special thank you to my co-director and hosts, Michael Schmidt and Elisa VanderHout.

More photos soon...and stay tuned for next year's Symphony in the Barn August 2 - 4, 2019!

Mexico Tour - Guadalajara & Ajijic

My great love of Mexico continued in February 2018 including performances with the Festival de Febrero Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfonica Zapopan and collaborations with my good friend Maestro Rodrigo Moncayo. I can't wait to return to visit the estate of his grandfather, composer José Pablo Moncayo, and explore more deeply JP Moncayo's viola sonata and other works.

Wow! That was an exciting day! My production 1000 Strings took over Yonge-Dundas Square (Toronto) and new music poured out in to the streets for the 2015 INTERsections Festival. We performed John Oswald's seminal work, originally for the Kronos String Quartet, with 1000 live performers of all ages!! What an inspiration! Thank you to all who made this possible. xo
